Cat Power — Moon Pix (Matador, 1998)

Moon Pix may be the byproduct of a hallucinogenic nightmare, but it’s ultimately more calming than frightening.

The only weakness to this is that the lyrics might be too cryptic for their own good—but then, that might be what makes this album so interesting.
